The Feathered Nest -- Cluttered Closets to CLEAN!

Does your nest contain too many feathers? If you are planning to sell your home, begin today to examine your closets. A full closet, even if well organized, is a negative to a buyer. Clutter will make buyers think that closet space is limited, even if it's not. Let's face it, we all have too much stuff!

Start with your clothes... what's the rule of thumb? If you haven't worn an outfit in the past year or two, you are unlikely to ever wear it again. Sell it at a consignment store, or donate it to a service organization like Goodwill.

Scrutinize your shoe collection as well. Place your shoes in boxes stacked neatly on a shelf, avoiding that pile on the closet floor. Store accessories in baskets or plastic bins. The less time a buyer spends looking at your possessions, the more time they will spend looking at your house!
